Spinal Health
Protection of the Spine can be achieved through proper lifting,
stretching and exercising to maintain healthy bones, eating nutritiously,
allowing the body to heal overnight with effective sleep patterns,
drinking appropriate amounts of water to nourish and replenish the
musculoskeletal system, and avoiding tobacco consumption
Bone is a living tissue.
Your skeleton serves three important functions:
- Scaffolding for the musculoskeletal system
- Protection of vital internal organs
- Metabolic reservoir keeping the body in harmony
The spinal column is extremely flexible
and has many functions:
- Protection of the spinal cord
- Stabilization
- Support and Weight Bearing (Supports the head and the weight
of the entire body)
- Shape and Position – Proper curves of the spinal column
- Motion
- Skeletal formation (ribs and other attachments)
- Resiliency (ability to absorb shock)
"The human body is vastly complex. It is a living organism
capable of electrical, chemical, thermal, mechanical and mental
creations, actions and reactions which it harmoniously carries out
in each moment of existence."
